Michael Jackson - Breaking News

So... 'Breaking News' of the day is that Sony Records is releasing a new MJ album next month and posted this new song from the album:

As with most things Michael Jackson, this release was not without controversy.
Members of Jackson's family doubt the authenticity of the vocals and believe it is someone else singing the song.

I'm not convinced that it's not him, but I can easily see how its authenticity could be doubted.
1) His voice is deeper (which happens with age, see: Elton John)
2) The mixing is awful and it's obvious that sample breaths and signature MJ shouts were cut in
3) Very seldom can you hear him singing alone, it's always heavily layered
4) Then there's the fact that it's just a downright terrible song
Many people have likened it to Britney Spears or other generic factory pop.

It has the MJ backbeat, but compare it to the last song he worked on, 'This Is It':

This was also released posthumously, but he was obviously involved in producing it and it was near completion since it shares the name of his would-be tour (which I had tickets to and am still sore about).

Anyway... this might be the only time I quote (and agree with) Will.i.am, but I think he sums up the feelings of many:
"He was a perfectionist and he wouldn't have wanted it that way," he said. "Now that he is not part of the process, what are they doing? Why would you put a record out like that?"

Side note: Cirque du Soleil has a show featuring MJ music!

Who wants to go?!
